What to do in Houston this weekend

  • It’s 713 DAY at The Conservatory on Thursday! Local Houston vendors will be having a pop up shop in The Conservatory from 5 — 10PM! Go rep the Bayou City & enjoy food and drink specials!
  • Discovery Green is back with their Flea by Night event from 6 — 10PM on Saturday. Lots of vintage items to dig through for gems. Definitely a fun way to spend your evening!
  • Houstonia is hosting their pop up shop on Saturday from 10 — 3PM at Silver Street Studios! Sip, stroll, & shop at this awesome, free event with tons of vendors, live music, food & drinks! You can get VIP tickets for $30 which includes drink tickets & swag bags!

What to do in Houston this weekend

  • MFAH is back with their Happy Hour Thursdays this week featuring Karbach! Go explore the museum for free and get a drink before you do. They also have food trucks for bites. Can attest this is a fun, chill time!
  • The Moonshiners downtown is having their 2 year anniversary Thursday night starting at 5PM & going to close! Complimentary appetizers & the first 100 people get a free t-shirt & other free swag!
  • Holler Brewing Co. is hosting a Appy Hour with Hughie’s starting at 4PM Thursday! Free small bites & appetizers & can’t forget the beer!
  • Celebrate Bastille Day Friday with 13 Celsius! Go and toast with a glass of French wine and indulge in a plate of melted raclette in a traditional style over house-made pickles and boiled root vegetables for $13.
  • It is STILL national hot dog month so Good Dog is back on Saturday with another 4 tap takeover, this time from Heights’ coolest brewery (maybe), Eureka Heights! There will be raffles for cool swag & lots of fun stuff goin’ on. So go enjoy delicious brews, special hot dogs, dog/beer pairings, fun games, and live entertainment!
  • Tacos A Go Go is hosting their Tacos & Doggos event from 11 — 2PM on Saturday! Grab some tacos and enter your pup friend into a costume contest for the chance to win a lot of cool prizes! Patio is dog friendly so bring all the pooches!
  • Another doggie event and this one is awesome. It’s the DOGPOP Summer Market! This will run from 5 — 9PM on Saturday and will feature some of “the best artisans and popup businesses and brands in Houston to create an awesome night of shopping and awesomeness”. Enjoy live music, drinks, and let your pups run free in the dog park! Also benefits the Houston Homeless Pet Project so you can’t go wrong.
  • Oh shit it’s National Ice Cream Day in Houston this weekend! This one came out of no where. Go celebrate my fav dessert’s day at Cloud 10 Creamery — it’s buy one scoop, get the second free!
  • This Saturday kicks off Belgian Beer week at Flying Saucer! Go get you some discounted brews & try some new Belgian ones to celebrate!
  • It’s Pistolero’s 4th birthday party on Sunday! $4 margaritas, everyone. Lots of cheap margaritas (and pitchers) and live music!
  • Balls Out Burger just opened in the heights! Dying to try it, but maybe in the evening when it’s a little closer in hot hot houston. Have you been? Let me know if it’s good in the comments!
  • *I just saw The Edison on instagram & am now dying to go! It looks insta worthy and definitely next on my list to try. Got any hidden gems you’d recommend?

What to do in Houston this weekend

  • Go and mingle Thursday at the Happy Hour Poolside at The Omni Riverway and network with Houston’s top event professionals!
  • This will be fuuuuun — Tea & Victory will be hosting a Board Game Pop-Up at Under the Radar Brewery from 5 — 10PM on Thursday night! There will be over 150 different games to choose from & it’s all free! Bring your homies & pick a game. Don’t forget the beer.
  • Get excited for Friday night Live Music at The Dunlavy! It’s another 2 — 8PM pop up happy hour with speciality priced boutique wines, cocktails and bar bites. Music starts at 5:30! If you’ve never been to The Dunlavy it’s a beautiful restaurant on the side of Buffalo Bayou – floor to ceiling windows make for the best views in Houston this weekend!
  • The 2nd Annual Viva el Tequila Festival is this Friday from 7 — 10PM at Cadillac bar! Tickets can be purchased before the event or at the door but includes sample pours, signature cocktails, and beer before grabbing some tacos from the Cadillac Bar’s very own food truck! What might get me there is the dance floor, though. 😉
  • SpindleTap Brewery is hosting a Cuban Festival from 12 — 6PM on Saturday! Cuban cuisine, cigar rolling, and craft beer!
  • Relax on your Sunday evening with Southside Espresso. Craft cocktails & live music will be filling the patio. So if you’re confused at what to do Sunday afternoon and want to relax with friends – this may be your spot!
  • There’s going to be a rooftop pool party at Aloft Downtown (brand new apartments) from 12 — 3PM on Sunday and dang it looks swanky. But if you’re looking to get that skyline view instagram, this may be your scene. It’s a ticketed event, so make sure to get yours now!

What to do in Houston this weekend

  • Yoga & hops at Eureka Heights from 7 — 10PM Thursday!
  • Yoga Beer Astros is the event you want to be at on Friday if you’re into baseball and downward dog. Get your flow on before the astros game & then enjoy the astros with a beer in hand! Not a bad way to start your weekend.
  • Revolver Houston & Republic Yoga Houston are hosting Stripped Down: Yoga on the Patio from 6 — 10PM on Friday! 50 slots available so if you want to flooooow you better step on it!
  • RacePace is finally having their grand opening on Saturday morning from 10 — 1PM! Go and get brunch bites from local Houston eateries, beer, mimosas, cocktails and coffee from Holler Brewing Co. and Revolucion Coffee + Juice HTX. There’s also an optional 4X1 relay that I will be participating in and am terrified. So come & join!
  • Get active at Buffalo Bayou Park by volunteering to clean up the bayou Saturday morning! This goes from 8:30 — 11:30 and is a great way to give back to HTX!
  • Revolution Studio is hosting Yoga on the Avenue from 9 — 11AM Saturday! Get your complimentary, 45 minute flow on and then celebrate with a post-flow block party featuring sips, snacks, and prizes.
  • Yoga & Hops at Karbach from 11 — 2PM on Sunday!
  • Dogwood is hosting Downward Dog for a Cause from 10 — 4PM on Sunday with a free yoga class & then drink specials the rest of the afternoon! Donations will go to the Houston Area Women’s Center. ALSO $1.00 mimosas until 4PM. So. Be there.

What to do in Houston this weekend

  • Houston Public Library is having a screening of Scott Pilgrim VS The World (based on the graphic novel series). So go and enjoy the movie and the stars on the Barbara Bush Literacy Plaza on Thursday night!
  • Insomnia is hosting an Album Art Show from 7 — 11PM Friday! The show will feature over 30 of Houston’s most talented artists reinterpreting either classic album art work or their favorite album art work. Pieces will be for sale & there is complimentary drinks! Food trucks will be on site & live music!
  • Say Girl Say will be performing at WOMH upstairs for Girl’s Rock Night starting at 8PM on Friday night! Love Say Girl Say’s music so def go support the local Houston bands that play! Tickets are 8$ in advance, 10$ at the door and some of the proceeds go to Girls Rock Camp Houston!
  • Y’all heard of Night Vale Radio? It’s a quirky podcast about the small desert town of Night Vale featuring local weather, news, announcements from the Sheriff’s Secret Police, mysterious lights in the night sky, dark hooded figures with unknowable powers, and cultural events… and now it’s coming to Houston Friday night! Go! It’s fun & you’ll love it!
  • Want a mix of nerdiness and swanky? Get your ass to the Houston Symphony for a night of Video Games Live on Friday night! See your fav video games brought to life in a one-of-a-kind multimedia concert experience with live music, solo performers, and exclusive video footage. SO cool.
  • The Sandlot will be also be playing at Bagby Park on Friday night from 8:30 — 11PM. Free admission & happy hour food and drink deals starting at 4PM until the end of the movie! “Stay cool with beer buckets, frosé, sake-ritas, and sangria pitchers!”.
  • The first installment of White Oak Music Hall’s Benefit Show Series is this weekend! This is a really cool concept of Houston musicians covering other artists in an attempt to raise $10,000 in one night for the UNTHSC Foundation! It starts at 7PM on Saturday and dressing up (thriftstore finds) is encouraged! Get your tickets!
  • The Houston Cinema Arts Society is hosting Julydoscope at Discovery Green from 7 — 10:30PM on Saturday night. This honestly sounds like such an artsy, relaxed night. Start with trivia, giveaways, and free poems upon request by the Inprint Poetry Buskers and then as the sun sets, you can enjoy live music & a series of short films.
  • Oh yea, Kendrick Lamar will be here with DRAM & Travis Scott. So, there’s that this weekend (Saturday night).
  • Screen Printing 101 is being hosted by TX/RX Labs from 10:30 — 3:30 on Sunday so if you’ve ever wanted to learn it’s your chance! At the end of class you’ll have your own frame to take home & make designs on!
  • Your favorite 80s cult film, Labyrinth is showing at midnight on Friday and Saturday night at the River Oaks Theatre! Grab a drink at the bar and watch!
