Welcome back to what you should be doing in Houston this weekend! July is almost done, but our plans aren’t! A lot is going on in this Bayou City, so get reading & figuring out what to do in Houston this weekend!

What to do in Houston this weekend

  • 19th Street Third Thursdays Sip & Social is this Thursday from 5 — 9PM! Get yourself over to 19th in the heights, grab a drink and wander the best shops in the heights!
  • The East End Street Market is hosting a Summer night market Friday from 6 — 10PM! Local music, food, shopping – y’all know the drill! Should be a fun time!
  • UH is having another print sale on Saturday from 12 — 6PM at Bohemeo’s so go and support them while they prep for their Senior Show! I have numerous prints from these sales & can attest that they’re awesome!
  • Fashion Truck Fest is Saturday from 3 — 9PM on 19th Street & Rutland! Hosted by AG Antiques, the best fashion trucks in town will be there & a bubbly bar! Fun way to spend your Saturday with the ladies (or men) in your life!
  • Eureka Heights Brewery is having an art market on Sunday from 12 — 6PM! Tons of artists, live music, and of course all the beer!

What to do in Houston this weekend

  • Holler Brewing Co. is doing another Appy Hour this Thursday, but they’re featuring Southern Goods! Starts at 4PM and goes until they run out of food! Get your weekend started with yummy apps!
  • The Conservatory is hosting their Third Thursday event this Thursday from 7 — midnight! They feature one of their favorite breweries & host a pop-up kitchen! This week it’s lookin’ like fried chicken so get over there!
  • The Houston Arboretum is hosting Food Truck Friday from 4:30 — 8:30! Fun event to kick off your July weekend. They’re keeping the trails open late so you can wander after gettin’ some food truck yumz!
  • Guuuuuuys my FAV ice cream shop of all time is having a grand opening on Saturday… BASKIN ROBBINS! They’re opening a new store on Woodway from 12 — 4PM. $1.50 a scoop! YUMZ.
  • Houston Fajita Festival is Saturday from 1 — 9PM at HTX Sports Creek! Live music, live art, handcrafted cocktails from spiked lemonade to Micheladas with a twist. PLUS all the fajita options you can imagine!
  • Okay it’s STILL national hot dog month so you know Good Dog is still celebrating with their tap takeovers – this weekend it’s Lone Pint Brewery takin over the taps on Saturday from 12 — 6PM!
  • Want to hang out at a brewery and get some good BBQ? Holler for BBQ is back at Holler Brewing Co with Feges BBQ! Go relax, drink & eat Sunday from 2 — 8PM!

  • Oh so you like Parks & Rec, do you? Better get yourself over to D&T Drive Inn for The Ultimate Parks & Rec Tribute Night Thursday night starting at 6PM and going through till 10! There may be a Lil Sebastian there soooo you know I’m tempted! Beer specials & lots of fun activities planned!
  • Cultured Cocktails at Boheme are back this week — this time supporting the Houston Pride Band! Go grab some cocktails and support our local LGBTQA concert band!
  • Retrospect Coffee Bar (new right door to Axelrad!!) is hosting Drag Queen Bingo Thursday night starting at 6PM! Go hang out with amazing drag queens & win some prizes while enjoying your coffee, beer, or wine!
  • Axelrad is hosting a Colombia Independence Day Fiesta Thursday night from 8 — 11PM! DJs, colombian drinks & more! ALSO the Colombia Fest International 2017 event is going on Sunday starting at noon & it’s going to be huuuuuuuge!
  • The Dunlavy is hosting Bingo & Beer Thursday night starting at 6PM! Specialty priced boutique wines, cocktails, bites & more!
  • Blanket Bingo in Market Square Park is back this Thursday starting at 6PM! Grab your homies & a blanket for bingo night! $10 for 9 games, not a bad bang for your buck!
  • Not far from Market Square Park is Henke & Pilot who is having their Thirsty Throwback Thursdays event – a fun summer series! Go grab drinks & enjoy all the throwback music from the 90s!
  • Wanna hang poolside with some yopros? The Four Seasons is having live music by the pool Friday night from 7 — 10PM! $5 beers & games galore!
  • The next HTX Boss Babes meetup is Friday from 3 — 7PM at 8th Wonder Brewery! Looking to meet some cool women (and men) who are bosses in their own right? I’ll be there, so you should too!
  • Friday night is Mixers & Elixirs at HMNS! A party at the museum is always in order & if you’ve never been you need to! Live DJ, cocktails, and lots of dancing! Doors open at 7PM and if you’re hungry there will be a host of food trucks outside! Ticketed & bring cash!
  • How is it time for Fistful of Soul at Continental Club AGAIN this Saturday? This is seriously a fun event, so if you haven’t been and you like some dancin’ and some good instagram backgrounds please make your way to CC! Then go upstairs and check out the vintage shops open late at night for some interesting finds…
  • Revelry on Richmond is having their 3rd Year Anniversary Beach Party Saturday from noon — 11PM! It’s a free event and bound to get wild with slip & slides, water balloon fights & more! Can’t forget the adult snocones.
  • Brooklyn Athletic Club (a classic) is hosting T’was a Christmas Party in July on Sunday from 5 — 9PM! Holiday inspired drinks, eats, games & more! Should be a fun time! I wanna go.
  • La Grange is also having an anniversary party this Sunday! Their 2nd anniversary LUAU will kick off with brunch from 11 — 3PM and then a full-out luau party with music from 3 — 7PM!
  • The Flat is always a good time, but especially on Sunday nights which is Disco Night! Happy hour is from 4 — 7PM and the jams start at 8!
  • ALL weekend long the 40th Houston World Series of Dog Shows will be at NRG! Get yo dog mom & dad on and get over to NRG for one of the largest dog events in the world.

What to do in Houston this weekend

  • Revolution Studio is having an hour-long hip hop flow thursday night from 8—9PM! Bring your snapback and get to flowin’!
  • Want your beer but want to be active too? Saint Arnold’s Brewery has yo back for their Magical Mystery Ride happening on Sunday from 11 — 1PM!  There will be a mystery beer tapping at SA & then the crew will roll out to Harold’s, Hugie’s, Pinkerton’s and Raven Tower!
  • O Athletik is putting on Sweat for Puppies this Saturday from 12 — 2PM! It is ticketed so get in now to enter the raffle for tons of prizes, a great workout & it’s all for the pups in the end!
  • As always Yoga & Hops will be all over this weekend! Beer + yoga = $25! Check them out at Eureka Heights on Friday from 7 — 10PM and also Friday at Platypus Brewing from 6:30 — 9:30! They’ll also be at Karbach Sunday from 11 — 2PM! Make sure to bring your own mat or you can rent one for $3!
  • Yoga & Hops is also hosting a Run Yoga Beer event on Saturday morning from 9 — 11AM at 8th Wonder Brewery. It’ll start with a 5K and then wind down with some yoga & beer at the end! Great way to start the weekend!
  • Pilates & Pints at Eureka Heights Brewery is Saturday from 11 — 12PM AND it’s free! Just bring a mat, towel & water bottle for a great workout!

What to do in Houston this weekend

  • Brazos Bookstore is having a Bullet Journaling class on Thursday night from 6:30 — 8PM! If you’re looking to get more organized and get better at list-making – this is the thing for you! Rosé will be served!
  • River Oaks Theatre is showing I Know What You Did Last Summer on friday night at midnight for their Midnight Madness series!
  • Main Street Square is having a movie night on Saturday (starting at 8PM) and they’re showing King Kong – the classic movie, that is. Grab a picnic blanket & a chair and enjoy our summer nights!
  • Papellerie, an awesome stationery studio is hosting an Intro to Watercolor Workshop on Saturday from 10:30 — 1PM! $150 per person but includes a lot!
  • Okay this sounds way too cool. Rec Room is putting on Dead Rock Star Sing-A-Long, a tribute to all the stars who have died this year. When you arrive you get a songbook in order to singalong! What a great way to remember those who have passed! This show is going through August so get your tickets now!
  • The Alley Theatre does a summer thrills series each year (and we ALWAYS go) & this year they’re doing Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps! This show runs through late August, but get your tickets now. Seriously you won’t regret it! Amazing actors & they always pick the best suspenseful shows!

And just want to add something a little different — maybe I should add a culture section. Ha. The Holocaust Museum is having a Celebration of Hope event on Saturday from 10 — 2PM in order to celebrate their new expansion (did you hear they got $33.8 million allowing them to double in size? It’ll be the 4th largest holocaust museum in the country!). This will be a free admission weekend with lots of activities including poetry readings, interactive murals, and holocaust survivor speakers.
