Guess what, Houstonians? It’s my birthday weekend! That doesn’t mean I’ve skimped on all the things to do, as usual there’s a lot going on in Houston this weekend! Critical mass is this Friday, Presidio is hosting their first market, Axelrad is doing ALL the things, and LOTS more! Lets get planning your houston weekend!

What to do in Houston this weekend

  • Sawyer Yards is killing it this summer with events almost every weekend, and this one is no different with their Summer Series Art Stroll & Sale on Friday from 5 — 9PM! Meet new artists while enjoying live music, food trucks and summer cocktails!
  • Presidio is having their first Saturday morning market from 9 — 11AM. They’ll be selling produce, art, music & more! Can’t wait to check this out. If you haven’t been yet, def go for the market but also go for a cocktail later in the evening & maybe even some bites!
  • Go to Axelrad on Saturday and check out BARC’s pups up for adoption! Babies need homes and happy houston families! This Brew Dogs Foster event will go from noon — 4PM!
  • Saturday from 2 — 8PM the Waugh Flea market will be up and runnin’. Sip, shop, repeat.

What to do in Houston this weekend

  • OKAY, Axlerad, we get it. You’re cool. Thursday night from 6 — 11PM there’s a Thai Style Fried Chicken Pop Up! YUM. K. We’ll be there. Except it’s my birthday, but otherwise!
  • The Dunlavy is having their champagne and sorbet pop up happy hour Thursday starting at 2PM and going all the way to 9PM! Sorbet cocktails & reg cocktail specials all night!
  • Want tamales? Axelrad and The Hot Damn Tamale Factory got you covered Friday night! Starting at 6PM — tamales & live music! Can’t go wrong!
  • If you’re into beer & steak, I know where you’re going to want to be on Friday night. Beer Market Co. on Studemont for their Steak Night & The World Tour of Beer, plus Rock ‘n Roll Bingo! Starting at 6PM, you can win all the prizes and enjoy a live DJ!
  • It’s the LAST weekend this month, so sadly that means that National Hot Dog Month is almost over. Good thing Good Dog has their finale of tap takeovers with Houston’s fav brewery, Saint Arnolds. Check it out on Saturday from 12 — 6PM!
  • Sunday from 2 — 8PM Holler Brewing Co & Feges BBQ are banding up once again for their Holler for BBQ event! It’s the last Sunday pop-up so make sure you get out there and go this weekend if you haven’t yet! Starts at 2PM and goes till it’s gone!
  • On Sunday Southern Goods is hosting a Flesh & Bone Brunch which sounds kinda gross, but they’re cohosting with The Houston Zombie Walk, so it makes sense. All you can eat buffet, cocktail specials, and a zombie horde just for YOU! Classic Sunday morning.

What to do in Houston this weekend

  • Thursday night y’all better get down to Little Woodrows in downtown for the 2017 SEC Turtle Races! Turtle races start at 8:45PM and yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like.
  • It’s Happy Hour Thursday again at the MFAH! Admission is free & you can get a drink and snacks from the food trucks on site! Fun way to spend your evening in the museum district!
  • Lei Low in the heights has put together a new menu showcasing Paranubes Rum and Mezcal Vago, and as usual they have created a tropical paradise. If you haven’t been – def check out this cool bar Thursday night! Hidden in a strip with a small, neon bar sign… you’re about to enter a tropical wonderland!
  • BUMBLE is hosting a happy hour at Julep on Friday night from 6 — 8PM! Cocktail specials available if you have the bumble app downloaded! Scroll down if you’re interested in doing YOGA with bumbleeeee!
  • It’s another live music night at The Dunlavy! Get yum bites and specials starting at 2PM! Music starts at 6PM. Enjoy with the best view of the bayou and downtown HTX!
  • KHALID is in town at Revention Center this Friday at 8PM! Tickets are still on sale so get em’ while they’re hot! Khalid’s album is fiiiire — wish I was going!
  • Check out Nathan Quick, our local fav musician, at the House of Blues on Friday night! Live music starts at 9PM!
  • Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company is celebrating BuffBrew Christmas in July this Saturday from 6 — 9PM! Tickets are $30 but it sounds like a jingle bellin’ good time!  Get an all-you-can-responsibly-drink array of limited edition beers, along with Santa, a live band & the best ugly sweater content this July!
  • Have y’all been to The New Potato? Out near Eado, this place lies & it’s got a seriously good patio! Saturday they’re hosting a TexiCali Summer Luau event with a roasted pig & everything! Kicks off at 7PM!
  • Karbach is hosting a Brave Bully Rescue Pit Bull Awareness Event on Saturday morning from 11:30 — 3:30. Y’all, I love pitties, so go support them and see some pups up for adoption.
  • Sunday at Eureka Heights get your board game from 12 — 6PM! 200+ board games to choose from. Grab your homies and battle it out. Saturday the same event will be going on at Flying Saucer! Board games all weekend!
  • Vans Warped Tour is takin’ off on Sunday all day at NRG Park!

What to do in Houston this weekend

  • Ready for a Thurday night run? Get a 3.75 mile run on with Under the Radar Brewery at 6:30PM! After you’re done you get a complimentary beer and watermelon.
  • Y’all know I LOVE RacePace, so I’m totally going to talk about their weekly run agaaaain! This time it’s starting at RacePace on Thursday (6:30PM!) and the brews will be down the street at Platypus Brewing! New Balance will also be at the store testing some new shoes, so extra motivation to go run to start your weekend!
  • Friday night is Critical Mass! Grab your bikes, your neon clothes, and your friends and hop on this bike ride that starts at Market Square Park in downtown and riiiiide! Starts at 6:30PM and usually lasts till around 10PM!
  • Another free yoga class? Yes, but this time it’s with Bumble! This Sunday from 10 — 11AM you can get your free flow on at Memorial Park. Did I mention it’s only free if you have the Bumble app downloaded on your phone? Hey, that’s not too much work… 😉
  • Yoga & Hops time! We’ve got a Thursday night class from 7 — 10PM at Eureka Heights, a Sunday class at Karbach from 11 — 2PM.

What to do in Houston this weekend

  • Thursday night from 6 — 8PM check out Lawndale Art Center for their Big Slide Show where you get to see all the current exhibiting artists talk about their work!
  • Go check out the Houston Shakespeare Theatre opening night at Miller Outdoor Theatre Friday at 8:15 — 11:15! They’ll be showing 12th Night, so grab a seat or a blanket to sit on the hill and enjoy!
  • The Secret Group Comedy Showcase will be going on at Eureka Heights on Friday night at 7PM! Free event but you may need a ticket to get in, so check before you go!
  • Saturday is Museum Experience Day, so lots going on! There are events going on in the museum district all day from 10 — 7PM. In Zone 3 it’s free admission! There are activities for all ages, so get out & enjoy the museum district.
  • If you’re in the digital content industry, Hispanicize Texas will be all day Saturday starting at 7:30AM at Silver Street! Tickets for individuals are $35 and includes a light breakfast, access to all on and off site sessions,
  • Ever thought you might enjoy opera, but on the fence? Eureka Heights is having a Brews & Bingo on Saturday from 5 — 7PM to fundraise for Discover Opera now! Play some bingo and check out a live performance by select OH! artists. Admission is free, but if you’re playing bingo they’d recommend a $5 donation!
  • There’s a candle making workshop on Sunday from 2 — 5PM hosted by Sparrow and the Nest for $60 where you’ll learn to make candles and you get to take home 4 candles of your own!
  • AGAIN I have to mention that The Alley Theatre does a summer thrills series each year (because it’s so good) & this year they’re doing Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps! This show runs through late August, but get your tickets now. Seriously you won’t regret it! Amazing actors & they always pick the best suspenseful shows!
