What to do in Houston this weekend

  • Head over to Platypus Brewing on Thursday night to shop handmade jewelry made by human trafficking survivors during the Brews & Beads Happy Hour event. All proceeds benefit survivor artisans in Asia & Africa.
  • You’ve heard of White Linen Night, but have you heard of Dirty Linen Night on 19th? Well, it’s this Thursday! Go shop 19th in your white linen one last time before it’s not socially acceptable anymore. Complimentary drinks provided in your fav shops!
  • Saturday from 6 — 10PM is Discovery Green’s Flea by Night where you can find cool, vintage stuff along with locally made items from HTX artists! Def a fun way to spend your Saturday evening.
  • Raven Tower is having another shop local event this Saturday from 4 — 10PM! UH Graphic Design program will be there doing a print sale so make sure to stop by & support! Tons of other vendors, live music & more!

  • Get a free margherita pizza this weekend during MidiCi’s Grand Opening on Richmond! It’s going to be packed, but I bet the pizza is worth it!
  • Thursday night is the Conservatory’s Third Thursdays event where they feature a local eatery (this week is Hoppy Heat), and they’re also featuring a bunch of local breweries this week! Get over there & check out Houston’s coolest underground food hall.
  • Saturday morning from 9 — 12PM, King’s Bierhaus is having their first Kolache Pop Up! They’ll be havin’ kolaches & bloody mary, mimosa specials!
  • Houston’s first 2017 Food Fest is going on this Saturday at Hermann Square at City Hall from noon — 10PM! Local restaurants, eateries, & food trucks will be showcasing yum foods! Not to mention live music, entertainment and more!
  • If you’re craving some BBQ, Holler Brewing Co is partnering with Feges BBQ on Saturday during their Holler for BBQ event! Starts at noon and goes to 6PM! BBQ it up!

  • Check out Axelrad on Thursday night for a Weisstheimer Game Night celebrating 8th Wonder with tabletop corn hole & a checkers tournament!
  • Blanket Bingo is back this Thursday at Market Square Park in downtown! Admission is $10 and gets you 9 games of bingo! Proceeds go to Market Square Park & Buffalo Bayou Partnership! Fun date night, ya know?
  • Friday night is Fistful of Soul at Continental Club! Such a fun event — you should definitely go if you like to dance, hang with friends, and drink some yum drinks.
  • Saturday is Eureka Heights 1 year anniversary! ALREADY! Can you believe it? Go & hang out from 1 — 9PM and also check out their new bottle release! There’s going to be cake, fun food vendors, music & more!
  • Celebrate Psoriasis Awareness Month at Nettbar on Saturday from 4 — 7PM. Drink specials, raffle items & ya know, education for an important condition.
  • It’s Carnaval Saturday at Batanga this weekend starting at 8PM until close! Brazilian food & cocktails all night and live performances starting at 8PM!
  • This Saturday is Kirby Ice House’s 2nd Annual Luau! Dancers, poke, shaved ice, tiki cocktails & more! Should be a fun day out at Kirby Ice House!
  • Go on a twilight bout tour on Buffalo Bayou from 6 — 8:30PM on Saturday! The tours are 30 minutes long and show you the hot spots in the best park in houston!
  • Saturday, Saint Arnold’s Brewery is hosting the North Heights Pub Crawl! It’s kicking off at Southern Goods from 5 — 6PM where you can get your punch card & learn your route! At the last stop, there will be prizes!
  • If you love pop music, you’re going to want to be at White Oak Music Hall on Saturday night — Betty Who & Geographer will be performing and dang I’MMA BE THERE. Jamz.
  • Sunday is Flying Saucer’s (in downtown htx) 17th anniversary, so they’re having a Happy firkin 17th anniversary event where you can go and enjoy a plethora of firkins (lol beer terms)
  • Celebrate and do some good at Axelrad on Sunday from 6 — 10:30PM during the Houston Women’s March Concert and Fundraiser! Live music starts at 6PM!

  • RacePace is having their weekly social run on Thursday at Holler Brewing Co! Go run 3 miles & celebrate with a beer at the end. 🙂
  • Kung Fu Running Club + Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co are hosting an August run on Saturday starting from 11 — 3PM. There will be a 3 & 5 mile run depending on your stamina (or how long you can handle the heat). Should be a fun ruuuun!
  • Bumble is back with free yoga in the park from 10 — 11AM! Free entry if you have the bumble app, so download and go get your flow on in Memorial Park!
  • There’s an EastEndBikeRide on Saturday night from 7PM — midnight! It’s going to be a 15 — 20 mile bike ride with 3 — 4 stops and ending with an after party at D&W Lounge.
  • Sunday you’re going to want to hang out around the Heights Hike + Bike Trail and join the Brewery Tour! This runs from noon to 8PM and hits up the heights’ coolest breweries! Each brewery will have a special hopped up beer for you to try!
  • Yoga & Hops will be all over this weekend including their Yoga Beer Astros event Friday from 6 — 9PM at Minute Maid Park, Friday from 6:30 — 9:30PM at Platypus Brewery, Saturday from 10 — 1PM at 8th Wonder Brewery, Sunday from 11 — 2PM at Karbach.

  • Lawndale Art Center is hosting a show called Speakeasy feat whole wide water on Friday from 7 — 8:30PM. “Using hand recorders and a station of mini musical instruments, they collected sounds, music, and spoken words from the visitors of Lawndale. From those recordings they have composed an original score to be debuted at our SPEAKEASY event.”
  • Saturday, Main Street Square will be showing Ghostbusters from 8 — 10PM for the last installment of their Summer Blockbuster Series! It’s free and chairs will be provided, so all you have to do is show up & enjoy!
  • Check out this interactive DRINKING show at The Rec Room called Benji and the beer Babies on Saturday starting at 10:30 PM. “Improvisors will put their wits and their livers to the test as they play improv games with decreasing sobriety and increasing hilarity.”
  • Check out Avenida downtown’s new installation — Arcade by Color Condition! The street will be blocked off starting Saturday so you can enjoy the three gorgeous installations! It looks verrrry pretty!
