I’ve officially been in LA for a full week now, and there has been a LOT going on from unpacking to discovering new restaurants, and searching for some furniture pieces to put all my crap in… this week flew by. One thing we got to do this weekend (that we also did last weekend— helloooo new traditions) is go to the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market off Main street.
We were introduced to the market by the boyfriend’s sister and so glad she did! There are tons of stalls of breakfast foods, produce, meat, pasta— basically whatever you want to pick up and feel hip & fresh. Last weekend we met a man selling pasta and he gave us samples of his pesto and mmmm I’ve been thinking about it all week. That was actually the reason we went back with grand plans of cooking our fresh pasta, along with a baguette (there’s a bread guy there too obvs) on Sunday night. WELL, pasta guy was a no show! SO disappointing but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to go back. Oh, we’ll be back, pasta man! You wait.
Anyways since we didn’t get pasta, we wandered anyways and I picked up a croissant while the boyfriend went for some more hearty breakfast tacos that looked delish. We sat on the lawn (in the rare 80 degree heat) and listened to two piano players and people-watched. It was the ultimate Sunday morning. Relaxing, but still active, and you get to eat which is the best part. 😉
I’m looking forward to many more Sundays, but hopefully with a lot more pasta involved, ya know? Girl needs her carbs, especially on Sundays.
